How To Set Up Our Tents

Clear Span Tent Installation Tutorial

I. Material Introduction

Tent’s main structure is made up of high-tense hollow aluminium alloy and steel components, its adjustable base plate caters to various uneven ground, all covers is made of the double-faced PVC coating  synthetic  fiber,  which  have  the  best  performances  in  breaking  strength,  water-proof, black-out, UV-proof, flame retardant (B1 DIN 4102/GB8642), jointed by high frequency welding craft. Regarding wind proof capability, our tent can withstand 80-100km/h wind loading, the design wind pressure is 0.56kn/㎡ and wind speed is 30m/s.

 II. Assembly Cautions

For 4m Eave Height tents must be fixed before erecting the frame.
Before starting construction you must read this documentation exactly. Check and Identify all the components. During the construction, please make sure that all the irrelevant personnel are out of construction area.

a)  Before starting the construction, please measure the ground area in advance, and confirm the tent’s dimension.
b)  The tents should be assembled by the experienced workers; inexperienced people please
do not assemble and dismantle the tent for avoiding the possible casualty.
c)   Please take the wind direction and nearby building into consideration when ground selection.
d)  Different fixation solution for different ground condition (grass, asphaltic ground, cement ground, marble ground…)
1.  Expansion bolt: suitable for cement ground, all bolts should be fixed if the ground is destroyable.
2.   Steel stake: suitable for earth and grass ground, fix each point with at least 2nos, and make sure they are driven to the bottom.
3.  Weight bracket: suitable for the ground that can stand certain pressure; each point should be loaded with at least 1500 kg weight.
e)  Safety inspection for components completeness and assembly reliability periodically.
f) All ‘M’ series tents are modular unit with 5 meters bay distance, which can be extended without limitation.

III. Construction

1) Draw the layout of the construction and fix the base plates

Draw the layout for tent assembly according to the tent specs and size. First assign the components in the assembling area. Make sure that all the base plate should be place in the same horizontal level, the uneven ground should be leveled beforehand. Identify all the base plates position;

2) Lay the components
Assign and lay all the components in place according to the assembling structure

3) Assemble the frame
a. Assemble ridge connector with roof beams
Insert the Ridge connector to the left/right Roof beams and fixed with Bolt
b. Assemble corner upright and roof beams
Feed the mounted roof beams to the respective sides of the gusset receiver of the corner upright and screw them.
Install the Insulated Circuit connecting board if electric equipment necessary
c. Assemble corner upright and base plates
Put the Corner upright into the receiver of the Side wall base plate and fixed with the
Stanchion pin. Repeat step 3.
4) Erect frame
Feed two load belts into the gravity centers of roof beam and lift the frame with the aid of the crane or fork stacker. Place the frame in vertical. Make sure there is pull-back rope to balance the frame to avoid over-pulling to the other side

Note: To erect the first frame, be sure to use the Wind bracing for fixation, see step (5)

5) Assemble the Wind bracings (Both sides respectively)

a. Connect the Wind bracing to the base plate and fixed it with Stanchion pin (see pic 1), life it to match the pin hole of the Corner upright and fix them with Bolt (see pic 2)
It is mandatory for single unit to assemble the Wind bracing. Assemble the Wind bracings no more than 5 bays for the combined units.
E.g. for 6 units, assemble the Wind bracings in the first unit and the last one.

b. Erect the second frame, assemble the second set of the Wind bracings in a cross with the first set

6) Assemble eave purlin
Hang up the eave purlin with curved hook end to the U-type buckle on the erected frames, then
Use the mounting fork to hang up the other end. Repeat this procedure until finish all the eave purlins

7) Assemble the roof purlin
Hang up the roof purlin with curved hook end to the U-type buckle on the roof beam, then
use the mounting fork to hang up the other end. Repeat this procedure until finish all the roof purlins and the erection work of the frames

Note: Please make sure that the hooks are totally hooked to the U-type buckles, to avoid the casualty caused by the drop-off of the purlins

8) Assemble Gable support (mid and side)
Lift and match the gable support (mid) end with right angle to the pin hole of the ridge connecter and fixed with Bolt. The bottom end connects to the base plate and fixed with stanchion pin; Gable support (side) assemble in the same way. (Please note not to fix the base plate in prior)

Note: Also could be fixed to the roof beam before the erection work of the frame and erected together with the frame

9) Assemble Gable eave rail
Adjust the position of Gable support (Mid and side), hang up the eave rail end with hook to the buckles of gable supports

Note: Please make sure that the hooks are totally hooked to the U-type buckles, to avoid the casualty caused by the drop-off of the rails

10) Adjust the base plates position of Gable support (Mid & Side) and fix
Adjust the base plates to keep them in a stable, parallel and even status, then fix them.

11) Assemble the roof bonds

Note: Assemble the Roof bonds to every Wind bracings accordingly

12) Assemble the fabrics
a. Assemble the Roof fabrics, insert the Fabric Tension bars
Place in the right position respective roof fabric, open the fabric-protection package and fetch them out to the carpet to avoid soiling.
Throw 2 Pull ropes from left to the right over the ridge of the first unit. Hang up both of the pull ropes with the hooks to both of the traction rings of the roof fabrics.
4 people in the other end each rope pull the rope, lift the fabric to the height of the roof

beam, feed the left and right keders of fabric into the groove of the roof beam respectively. Pull the 2 Pull ropes at the same time slowly over the ridge. Pull back the ropes if the fabric get trapped in the roof beams, then pull up again.
Insert the Tension bars into the holes in the fabric, stretched downwards till the stop and fixed with Tension bolts
Note: Insert the connection rod to the Tension bars of roof fabrics of the two neighbor
units and fixed with Tension bolts

b. Assemble the triangle fabrics, insert the Fabric Tension bars
Triangle fabrics with 1 set, 2 pieces, install them separately.
Hang up the fabric with the pull rope and feed the keder into the roof beam groove and pull till the height of the ridge, do exactly the other piece. Insert keders to the connecting rods and stretched downwards till the stop.

c. Assemble the side wall fabrics and gable fabric
2 pieces side wall fabrics per side wall, 2 pieces per gable. Assemble them separately. Gable fabric, insert the fabric side with sliding nut into grooves of the gable eave rail, insert the left and right keders into the grooves of the corner uprights, pull-down the fabric to the ground end, then zip up 2 pieces together.

13) Assemble the Ground rail though the gable fabric and side wall fabric
Insert the Ground rail into the bottom end of the fabrics and fix both ends of the rail into the base plates

14) Tent Inspection
Inspect the tents thoroughly after the completion of the assembly to make sure everything is
OK.

IV.   Dismantling

1) After dismantling you have to clean the used fabric, wash the dirty mess. All the fabrics must be dry before you start folding.

2) After dismantling you have to mark, sort and pack all the components immediately.

V.   Maintenance

The tent’s material decides the range of the tent usage. As a temporary construction, the user must pay attention to below mentioned points:
a.   The main parts of this product are made of aluminium, steel and PVC coated fabric. Please do not used for the stockage of high concentrated acids, alkali, gas and other corrosive things.
b. Do not clean the aluminium parts by acid, alkali or other high concentrated cleanser.
c.  Even if the fabric of tents satisfy the National flammability standards, the fabric is of flammable material, so please keep at least 100meter distance away from explosive and inflammable materials.
d.   For avoiding explosion, fire and damaged, please do not bring explosive, inflammable, sharp and inflammable substances and materials into tent.
e. You can clean the fabric by diluted alkali detergent, but do not scratch by sharp things.
Small damage can be repaired by our special glue.
f.   Do not disassemble any part of the tent and change the structure. Otherwise, it will cause serious aftereffects.
g. Equipped fire equipments nearby tent as per the standard of National fire department.

VI.   Solution for emergency

1)   In case of heavy rain and snow, storm, sand storms and other rough weather, please send people to keep close watch on weather condition and the water volume on roof fabric. Use a pole or similar (not sharp) object to drain the water and snow from the roof. Keep all side walls closed in these weather conditions and plus pulling rope at windward side to raise the wind proof level. If tent still can’t withstand the weather, please disassemble the roof fabric and side walls immediately for decreasing wind force.
2)   In case of natural disasters of force majeure like earthquake, flood, typhoon etc. increase people to keep close watch on the situation under the premise of predictable for less loss.
3)   In case of above mentioned situation, evacuate all people immediately for avoiding serious injury and loss of people.
